TOP 10 FAVORITE BATHROOM/BEAUTY PRODUCTS

Right around the time I started caring more about what I was putting in my mouth, I started questioning more about what I was putting on my body, hair and teeth.  I\’ve read, tried and experimented with SO many products at this point I thought I would share.  I started looking at ingredients lists and concluded that if I wouldn’t eat something, I should probably hesitate before I let it soak into my pores.

Now, unfortunately I am in LOVE with the likes of MAC, Maskcara, Urban Decay and several other make-up brands and just can’t seem to give up the good stuff (or afford the fruit-pigmented make-up, it’s amazing and VERY pricey).  So I justify my deadly make-up love by trying to be extra good when it comes to everything else I put on my body.

The nice thing too is that many of the products that I love and use regularly (baking soda, coconut oil) counter balance the cost of things like my facial line and essential oil loves.  Because many of the cheaper products are multi-purpose I find that I\’m actually spending less than I used to and using much better products!

I went ahead and had a little photoshoot in my bathroom.

And so, a list:

#1. EVERYONE SOAP & LOTION

I LOVE this stuff.  I\’m always on the prowl for a gentle soap I can use on my kid’s eczema-prone skin and this stuff wins!  And it smells SOOOO good!  I went ahead and bought it in the citrus+mint and the manly one too. Plant-based, paraben free, polysorbate free, disodium EDTA free, gluten free, non-GMO verified, sodium laureth/lauryl sulfate free!  The lotion is nice because it’s light and I love a pump!  I\’ve even been using it on my face and I love how healthy my skin has been!  You can find the soap herewidth=1 and the lotion herewidth=1.  I get mine at Harmon’s but luckily you can get it on Amazon!

#2.  GRAPEFRUIT, PURIFY & MELALUCA OIL

These oils- I\’m LOVING grapefruit as a deodorant right now.  I mixed it with some salt and coconut oil (I have yet to perfect the recipe, but when I do I will absolutely share!)  I cannot find a good natural deodorant, but until I do, these guys are working fairly well.  Summer is coming so if you have any recommendations, please share!!  I get my oils through my dealer-check her out and tell her I sent you and she\’ll hook you up!

#3 100% PURE FACIAL LINE

You guys, if I could buy everything from 100% pure I would.  I love their products!  This 100% Pure Vitamin C Serumwidth=1, Super Fruits Reparative Creamwidth=1 and 100% Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Creamwidth=1 keep my face looking less puffy and colorless than it would without.  And seriously…so yummy smelling!

#4  COCONUT OIL

If you\’ve ever been on pinterest, I\’m sure you\’ve seen the endless pins talking about coconut oil.  There is a reason everyone is raving.  It’s awesome.  Hands down, it is the best make-up remover I have ever used.  It moisturizes my entire body and soaks in.  It helped prevent stretch marks (and their accompanying pain) on my second pregnancy.  It’s awesome to use while breastfeeding-since it’s a food I didn’t worry about moisturizing with it.  It is an amazing lubricant that never gets sticky or loses its slipperyness!  I LOVE coconut oil.  I get thiswidth=1 brand at costco and I love it.

#5 100% PURE COCONUT NOURISHING BODY CREAM.

It’s amazing.  It smells delightful.  I love this stuff.  It’s my most favorite body cream I think I\’ve used ever (and this is coming from an ex manager of Bath & Body Works).  I will say though, I\’ve tried the lemon and the key line from the same line and coconut wins for sure.  It’s light and summery and so SO delicious.  Get some herewidth=1.

#6 SAY YES TO CARROTS

I use 3 different shampoos/conditioners and I think this one’s my favorite.  It’s lack of paraben and petroleum seems to help my hair stay healthy and not weighed down.  It smells lovely, and for a more hippie shampoo it lathers nicely!  And seriously, it’s got carrots in itwidth=1!  What’s not to love!?

#7 TRADER JOE’S PEPPERMINT TOOTHPASTE

Most favorite natural toothpaste.  It’s the best.  I\’m telling you, once you quit normal toothpaste you won’t go back.  I had no idea how many sweeteners were in crest/colgate/all non-natural toothpastes!  You can taste them after using a baking soda based paste and it’s very eye-opening.  I like trader joe’s the best.  It’s got the shortest ingredients list and after using it for a few years I can tell you my dentist supports me using it as well.

#8 GRANDPA’S WONDER PINE TAR SOAP

My hubby found this stuff.  It’s more for him than for me, BUT I still love it.  It softens the longer you leave it on hair-so it’s great for beard hair and such.  It\’ also deodorizes really well.  It has a lovely woodsey smell that I love on him!  You can find it herewidth=1.

#9 BAKING SODA

Baking soda?  Oh yes, baking soda.  This is great stuff!  When used with hydrogen peroxide it whitens my teeth.  It scrubs off any build up (ie dry shampoo) from my scalp and works amazing at exfoliating my face too!  I actually used a combination of this and vinegar on my hair for a few months as a replacement for shampoo/conditioner (it went ok, my hair just seemed to be too dry and I\’m really trying to baby it while I grow it).  I have found baking soda becoming more and more of a staple in all of my cleaning-both body and house.

#10 MADE ON LIP BALM

I\’m loving this stuff.  I\’m a die-hard burt’s bees fan but this wins. I\’ve tried SO MANY different lip balms and the natural ones in particular seem to be too oily and thin.  I like a thick balm that sticks to my lips and penetrates deep.  This satisfies all my lip-balm needs.  I have it in vanilla and mint and they are both lovely.  4 ingredients!!  You can find their yummy stuff here.  They make the coolest hard lotion too!

  1. Love these- I just went on to amazon and got some of that trader joes toothpaste- Christina told me about it too a long time ago. P.S. do you know if its safe to use essential oils when you have an infant? I know its probably not the best to use them on them but can I still use them?

    1. Each oil is different-some are safe and some are not for infants/nursing/etc. Just be sure to look into it before you use!
