We have several Christmas Traditions in our house. The decorated beard is a new one that I think we will continue any year Mr Davis happens to have a sweet beard. We always end up going to at least 1 White Elephant party every year and this was his get-up. It gives me some goals for what to look for whenever we go thrifting and we love Christmas parties.
Every Christmas Eve we eat chicken wings. This was what we did at my house growing up, and we\’ve decided to carry on this tradition. To be honest, I\’m not sure how it started, but I support it. We love chicken wings!
On Christmas Eve we also get to open one present, which is always jammies. We started this one ourselves. I always got new jammies for Christmas, but I like the idea of opening them the night before so you can wear them! After we open our new jammies we snuggle together and watch the nativity story and talk about Christmas and Jesus’ birth.
On Christmas morning we wait until a reasonable hour and start with stockings. This year I made them aprons (the night before, of course. #teamnosleep) and they got lots of fun little trinkets from Santa. We like the majority of the gifts from Santa to be stockings and maybe one or two not huge gifts under the tree.
Mr. Davis then begins his job of handing out the presents, one by one so we all take turns opening ours. Our children are spoiled rotten every year.
My favorite. After presents we eat coffee cake and the hot cocoa we get from santa in our stocking. This is the first year we\’ve been able to do it on my Great-Grandmother’s china-something I will treasure. It’s vintage contemporary and asymmetrical…so many of my favorite things.
Our Christmas this year was a good one. But it’s nice to breathe a sigh of relief that it’s all over. How was your Christmas?
