I loved my blessingway so much. I was so spoiled and loved on by some of my most favorite women. Like I have said many times, every woman deserves a blessingway! I wrote awhile back about Staci’s blessingway and explained some of the traditions and differences between a blessingway and a baby shower. Mine really was more of a hybrid between the two and it was perfect. Everyone took the time to share thoughts about motherhood and add beads to a necklace for me to wear/look at while I\’m in labor.
Monica’s husband, Aaron was kind enough to make a dreamcatcher for Fox, which is extra meaningful because of his heritage. We love to celebrate our native-americanness together.
Christina, my sister, tied us all together to create bracelets for everyone to wear until the birth.
I love sitting in a circle of women talking about motherhood. Even those that have never had children have beautiful things to contribute. It’s such an uplifting celebration of what I\’m about to embark on.
Everyone brought a bead to represent them and one for each of their children-creating a necklace of sisterhood and motherhood.
My Mom called in and told the story of the first day that she met me. I was three months old, my foster mother had left and she\’d only found out the day before that they would be getting me. It was pretty crazy!! It makes me extra grateful for the 9 months I\’ve had to prepare.
I sit so ladylike these days.
My sisters.
And all of my amazing friends.
I am a blessed woman and this baby is coming into a lot of love.
